I remember thinking when I played Rise, since I don't like her voice anyway, to change the language so I wouldn't understand what she was saying. Like they're afraid to do anything with her that would give her even just a teeny-tiny bit of depth or personality just because they don't want to step on anyone's toes and unfortunately, I don't see that changing until the next reboot of the franchise. 'I want to help you.' 'How can I be of help?' 'Anything I can do to help?' It's freaking irritating how much of a cheesy, overly well-intentioned goody-two-shoes she is. She sounds like someone working for some service hotline. I was almost prepared to say I liked the puzzle you have to solve to get out of the flooded archives after I did the right half of it (not that that was an incredible puzzle but I still found it entertaining) but then the left half was so incredibly dumbed down in comparison.Īlso, I'd already watched the cutscenes before on YouTube but playing through it just reminds me of how annoying Lara is in this game.
